The easiest way to set rules up for your event is to just follow the USGA rules. Then can be found on on their web site at http://www.usga.org. Go to the rules tab and see what makes sense for your event. From there you can determine if you are going to add any event specific rules.


Here are some ideas on rules you can add to make your event interesting:


Reward for being in the fairway. Can you roll the ball in your own fairway or do you play the ball as it lies on every shot? There is not a right or wrong answer, but you need a consistent rule for everyone and communicated in advance.


High Tech. Can you use range finders? Most events say ‘yes’ but best to document up front.
